The Riddle of Sphinx Re-arose: On the Subject and Ethical Predicament in the Era of Posthuman

Zhou Susu

Abstract: As the new technological revolution continues to expand in depth and breadth, the "absent" presence of the body and the nomadic mobility of identities are becoming a material reality beyond the theoretical realm. The boundaries of traditional subjects are increasingly blurred, and humans are caught in a more complex ethical dilemma in the age of artificial intelligence. In the context of the above issues, this paper will first focus on the concept of subjectivity, tracing the construction and deconstruction of the ethics of the subject in Western civilization, and briefly explain the view of the subject in the post-human era; The second part provides a specific analysis of the ethical crisis that arises between humans and non-humans in the context of science fiction literary and artistic texts; In the last part, this paper offers extended reflections on issues related to the reconfiguration of the subject and the scientific selection in the post-human era.

Key words: post-human; subjectivity; ethical predicament; scientific selection
