A Translation Study of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland in the Descriptive Paradigm An Shuang Abstract: The trend toward the cultural turn in the field of translation studies was gradually revealed in the 1970s, and descriptive paradigm was developed based on criticizing the traditional normative paradigm. Based on the descriptive paradigm, this paper analyzed the underlying reasons for the successful translation of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland from three levels, including the historical background, the translator and the sponsor.
