Abstract: Mind mapping has prominent features, such as prominent keywords and distinct structure; Through the tree diagram method, deepen the memory; Clear levels, clear points and difficulties, and so on. In order to improve the application efficiency of mind mapping in primary school English teaching, teachers can use mind mapping to summarize vocabulary knowledge; Make use of mind map to break through the key points of teaching; Use mind mapping, summarize knowledge points and other aspects to improve classroom teaching efficiency.

Keywords: mind map; English primary school; Classroom teaching; Effective application

Mind mapping takes a certain idea as its core content and gradually develops in other directions. This graphic method is very vivid and active [1]. Teachers' application of mind mapping in teaching can help students screen knowledge points and construct a perfect knowledge framework, which can cultivate students' potential, improve students' learning efficiency and achieve twice the result with half the effort. Therefore, this paper briefly describes the characteristics of mind mapping, and finally focuses on the application strategies of mind mapping.

1 mind map features

Mind mapping has many characteristics, so its application in primary school English teaching can achieve good teaching results. Specifically, the features of mind mapping are as follows: First, the key words are prominent and the structure is distinct. In English teaching, teachers can determine a central theme, carry out activities around the theme content, and take this as a branch to continuously extend. Teachers can write key words on the branches, which are easy for students to understand and simple. Second, through the tree diagram method, deepen the memory. Mind mapping conforms to the memory characteristics and thinking mode of the human brain, and is presented by tree diagram, which is convenient for students to grasp and sort out the hierarchy of tree diagram and deepen their memory [2]. Third, the level is clear, and the important and difficult points are clear. Mind mapping contains a lot of content. In order to avoid its disorder, teachers can mark symbols with lines of different thicknesses or colors, clearly divide the levels of mind mapping, and ensure that students can be clear at a glance in the learning process. Fourth, flexibility and divergent thinking. In fact, the design of mind map is to process information, extract information and integrate information, so as to ensure that everyone can express their subjective intention based on their own thinking level and knowledge. Students can integrate their learned knowledge, lay the foundation for learning transfer, and make them constantly expand their new knowledge when internalizing their knowledge.

2 Application strategies of mind mapping in primary school English classroom teaching

In primary school English teaching, teachers should reasonably use mind maps to improve classroom teaching efficiency on the basis of understanding mind maps. Therefore, the author thinks that mind mapping can be applied from the following aspects:

2.1 Use mind mapping to summarize vocabulary knowledge.

Many students think that the knowledge points of English are scattered, they can't find their own learning methods in the process of learning, and they have insufficient memory and understanding of knowledge, which increases the difficulty of learning. In order to solve this problem, teachers should play their own role to guide students to learn knowledge systematically, so that students can master knowledge better. At the same time, it can also guide students to classify according to a certain topic or category, and effectively summarize what they have learned [3]. Teaching "Colours!" Take this part as an example. This lesson focuses on learning words related to color. Therefore, teachers can take color as the center of mind map and let students use what they have learned. First of all, teachers can divide students into their favorite colors, disliked colors and other colors. Secondly, let students divide the vocabulary learned in class into the above three analogies. At this time, some students have perfected their mind maps. For example, some students have written "red, pink and black" in their favorite colors; Write "green, gray, blue" in the colors you don't like. Memorize words through mind mapping to deepen students' memory. Teachers' application of mind mapping in teaching to guide students to summarize knowledge is helpful for students to grasp the relationship between English knowledge and improve their learning efficiency.

2.2 Use mind mapping to break through the teaching focus.

Under the traditional teaching mode, teachers regard teaching as a major task, without considering students' acceptance ability. In this mode, many students don't have the corresponding knowledge, which is not conducive to students' breaking through the important and difficult teaching points, and can't achieve the ideal teaching effect. English is a language subject. Learning this subject well requires students' memory and understanding to communicate anytime and anywhere, which is the key to their knowledge. Therefore, teachers can show the important and difficult points in teaching by mind map, which is convenient for students to break through easily. Taking the teaching of "my friends" as an example, considering the difficulty of learning this part of knowledge, many students can't grasp the expression of the key sentence pattern "My friend is storng. He has shortened ...". For this reason, teachers help students break through the important and difficult points in learning with the help of mind mapping. First, they take "my friends" as the core and extend it to four different aspects: appearance, personality, figure and specialty. Finally, they extend it according to the above four aspects. For example, appearance can be extended to "big eyes, thick eyebrows and long (short) hair". In this way, students learn to use the key sentence patterns of this lesson to describe their friends under the action of mind mapping. For example, some students describe according to their own mind mapping: "My friend is beatiful. He has shortened and big eyes." It can be seen that teachers can make rational use of mind mapping in teaching to guide students to learn, so that students can quickly break through the important and difficult knowledge in teaching and improve teaching efficiency.

2.3 Use mind map to summarize the key points of knowledge.

Combined with previous teaching, it can be seen that most students do not summarize what they have learned, let alone actively reflect on the learning process. These problems have a great impact on students' learning English, and will also limit the teaching effect of this course and students' English ability [4]. Therefore, teachers should show students what they have learned based on the teaching content and mind map when carrying out teaching activities, so that students can learn to use mind map to summarize the key points of knowledge and improve their learning ability. Teaching "Look at me!" For example. Teachers can impart basic knowledge to students in class, starting with mind mapping, and guide students to review what they have learned through mind mapping teaching paradigm. First of all, teachers can ask students to think, "What have we learned in this unit?" Then "language knowledge" is the core, and then it is divided into three parts: "words and phrases", "everyday spoken language" and "structure". Then, students summed up and reviewed the knowledge of this lesson, and gradually improved their mind map. For example, they wrote "cap, T-shirt, clothes" in terms of "words and expressions". In the above-mentioned links, the students summed up the knowledge points of this lesson with the help of mind map, which can cultivate students' intuitive thinking, enhance students' memory and enable them to master efficient learning methods, which is conducive to students' formation of good thinking.

Concluding remarks

To sum up, mind map is a kind of modern learning thinking tool, which provides many conveniences for teachers' teaching, and helps students to remember what they have learned and enhance their memory. Therefore, in teaching, teachers should make rational use of mind mapping to summarize vocabulary knowledge, break through the key points of teaching, summarize the key points of knowledge, and play its role in improving classroom teaching efficiency and students' learning ability.
