Professor George D. Birkmayer, American academician and recognized worldwide as the father of NADH. In 1969, he obtained a doctoral degree in biochemistry from the University of Vienna. In 1973, he was qualified as a professor of cell biology at the University of Munich in Germany. In 1979, he obtained a doctoral degree in medical pharmacy from the University of Munich. In 1982, he became a professor of medical chemistry at the University of Graz. Since 1988, he has been a professor of medical chemistry at Graz University, a visiting professor at universities in New York, San Francisco, Beijing, Guangzhou, and Xi'an (China), president of the International Society for Tumor Markers (IATMO) in New York, a member of the New Academy of Sciences, and a member of the American College of Nutrition. Members of multiple academic organizations, including the New York Academy of Sciences, the American Association of Clinical Scientists, the American Clinical Chemistry Association, the American Association for Cancer Research, the American College of Nutrition, the German Society for Cell Biology, the German Cancer Society, the German Pharmacological Society, the Austrian Clinical Chemistry Association, and the European Organization for Cancer Research and Treatment. The full name of NADH is Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide Hydride, and the Chinese name is Reduced Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide Hydride.
